SermonKeep vs Pulpit AI: Features and Pricing Compared (2026)
By the SermonKeep team ·
If you’ve looked at sermon tools lately, you’ve probably come across Pulpit AI. It’s well made, it’s part of Subsplash, and many churches use it. If you’re searching for a Pulpit AI alternative, or just trying to understand how it compares with SermonKeep, this page sets the two side by side.
Full disclosure: SermonKeep is our product. We’ve written this the way we’d want a competitor to write about us: with their prices taken from their own website, the things they do better stated plainly, and no guessing. Everything about Pulpit AI below comes from pulpitai.com and its pricing page as of October 13, 2026. Prices and features change, so check their site before you decide.
The short answer
Both tools start from the same place: a sermon that has already been preached. They go in different directions from there.
- Pulpit AI is built to turn one sermon into as much content as possible: captioned video clips, devotionals, blog posts, newsletters, recap emails and more. Its home page says you can “browse through over 20 pieces of content based on your sermon.”
- SermonKeep is built around a faithful record of what was preached: a word-for-word transcript, every Scripture passage the sermon used, and a few materials drawn only from the preacher’s words: a small group guide, clips and quotes, and a YouTube and podcast description.
If your church wants ready-made social video and a steady stream of written content, Pulpit AI does more of that work. If you want an accurate transcript you can trust, the Scripture done for you, and a lower monthly price, SermonKeep is likely the better fit.

Pulpit AI pricing, explained
Pulpit AI prices by the number of files you upload each month, as of October 13, 2026:
- Basic: $39/month, 5 uploads ($421.20 a year if paid yearly)
- Standard: $59/month, 10 uploads ($637.20 a year)
- Pro: $129/month, 25 uploads ($1,393.20 a year)
- Free trial: 2 uploads, no credit card
Their pricing page says every plan includes the full set of features, so the plans differ only in uploads. One nice thing about counting uploads: a long sermon costs the same as a short one.
SermonKeep counts hours of audio instead. The Pastor plan is $24 a month for 10 hours, and the Church plan is $49 a month for 25 hours. Both include every tool, and extra audio is $2 an hour, so nothing stops if you go over. Paying yearly gives you two months free.
What that means in practice, for typical 45-minute sermons:
- One sermon a week (4–5 a month): Pulpit AI Basic at $39, or SermonKeep Pastor at $24.
- Two or three services a week (10–12 recordings a month, about 9 hours): Pulpit AI Pro at $129 (Standard covers only 10 uploads), or SermonKeep Pastor at $24.
- Every service, study and class (25–30 recordings): Pulpit AI Pro at $129 plus extra uploads, or SermonKeep Church at $49.
What Pulpit AI does better
We’d rather tell you this plainly than have you find out after signing up.
- Real video clips. Pulpit AI cuts the clips and adds captions you can style. SermonKeep tells you which moments to clip and where they are; the cutting happens in your own editor.
- More kinds of content. Devotionals, blog posts, newsletters and weekly recap emails, all drafted from the sermon. SermonKeep doesn’t write any of these.
- Chat with your sermon. You can ask questions about the message and get ideas for openers, illustrations and application.
- More ways in. You can upload video files, slides and written notes as well as audio.
- Subsplash. If your church already uses Subsplash, Pulpit AI is right there in your dashboard, with no uploading twice.
What SermonKeep does differently
- A transcript you can trust. Every sermon is sent to the speech recognition model with a dictionary of about 180 biblical names and doctrinal terms, so Melchizedek and Habakkuk come out right. A review pass then fixes obvious misrecognitions (each fix is listed so you can undo it) and asks you about anything uncertain. We explain how in our guide to sermon transcription accuracy.
- Only the Scripture that was preached. SermonKeep lists every passage the sermon used, including the ones alluded to but never named, with the verse text beside the moment it came up. It doesn’t add verses the preacher didn’t use. The small group guide works the same way: it quotes the preacher, shows the minute each answer was said, and uses only Scripture the preacher cited.
- A lower price for most churches, and the same tools on both plans. Plans differ only in hours.
- Search every word you’ve preached. Type a word or phrase and see which sermons said it and at what minute, with the passage highlighted. Quotes in double quotation marks find the exact phrase, in English or Spanish.
- Unlimited team members on every plan, so the whole staff can work from the same sermon library.
- Five languages, with a Spanish theological dictionary for Spanish sermons. See our guide to Spanish and bilingual sermon transcription.
- Clear privacy terms. Your sermons aren’t used to train anyone’s models, and we delete each transcript from our transcription provider as soon as we have it. Details are in our privacy policy for churches.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Pulpit AI cost?
As of October 13, 2026, Pulpit AI’s pricing page lists three plans: Basic at $39 a month for 5 uploads, Standard at $59 a month for 10 uploads, and Pro at $129 a month for 25 uploads. Paying yearly saves 10%. There is a free trial with 2 uploads and no credit card. Every plan includes all features; they differ only in the number of uploads.
What is the difference between SermonKeep and Pulpit AI?
Both work from a sermon that has already been preached. Pulpit AI focuses on producing as much content as possible from it, including captioned video clips, devotionals, blog posts and newsletters. SermonKeep focuses on a faithful word-for-word transcript, every Scripture passage the sermon used, and a small set of materials built only from the preacher’s words: a small group guide, clips and quotes, and a YouTube description.
Is there a cheaper Pulpit AI alternative?
SermonKeep’s Pastor plan is $24 a month for 10 hours of audio, about 13 sermons, compared with Pulpit AI’s Basic plan at $39 a month for 5 uploads (prices as of October 2026). Both offer a free start: SermonKeep transcribes your first sermon free, up to an hour, and Pulpit AI’s trial includes 2 uploads. Note that SermonKeep doesn’t cut video clips or write devotionals, which Pulpit AI does.
Does SermonKeep make video clips like Pulpit AI?
No. SermonKeep’s Clips & quotes suggests the most quotable moments with their timestamps and exact words, and you cut the video in your own editor. Pulpit AI cuts and captions the video clips for you. If ready-made social video is your main goal, Pulpit AI does more of that work.
Can I use SermonKeep with Subsplash?
SermonKeep doesn’t integrate with Subsplash. You upload the sermon audio or paste the YouTube link. Pulpit AI is part of Subsplash, so churches on Subsplash can create Pulpit AI content from their media without uploading again.
Which one should your church choose?
Choose Pulpit AI if your church is on Subsplash, social video is your top priority, or you want devotionals, blog posts and newsletters drafted for you every week, and the higher price fits your budget.
Choose SermonKeep if you want an accurate, word-for-word record of what was preached, the Scripture found for you, a small group guide that sticks to the sermon, and a lower monthly price, and you’re happy to cut video in your own editor.
Or try both. Each has a free start: two uploads on Pulpit AI, and your first sermon (up to an hour) on SermonKeep. Run the same sermon through both and compare the transcripts, the Scripture and the small group guide. That’s the fairest test there is.
